The 4th-5th Grade Explorers are proud to present a dramatic portrayal of the Ancient Greek Myth of Psyche, "Psyche: The Arrow and the Lamp," about a mere mortal who earned immortality through bravery, perseverance, and determination. The Greeks associated the butterfly with immortality and believed that its metamorphosis and migration patterns symbolized the human soul. Our play will be performed on Friday, January 27th, 2012 on the Odyssey Community School stage at 11:00 a.m.
Please plan to attend and stay for a brief parent meeting in the Explorer classroom at noon. We will serve pizza and discuss plans for the spring semester, upcoming field trips, end of the year trip, etc. We will also be discussing the importance of contributing to the Annual Fund.
RSVP Edie and Daniel: emcdowell@odysseycommunity.org and dmanget@odysseycommunity.org
The very next day, Saturday January 28th at 11am, there will be a FREE Pancake Breakfast in the gym, with a short program - a State of the School address from John Johnson, a brief talk by Edie and Telle about Integral Education, more about the Annual Fund by Jim Kloman, and the premiere of a short film that we are creating for the school's philanthropy packet. Some of the 4/5 Explorers are in the film and did a terrific job!
See you on Friday!
